What is exchangesummit.net?
The purpose of exchangesummit.net is to provide a distribution mechanism for IT Pro Secure Corporation for selling training materials in Video format. This training material is focused towards the Windows System Engineer interested in observing Video created in a Virtualized Lab Environment of Advanced Administration, Configuration, Optimization and Security techniques on the Windows Platform. return to top
How are the training materials made?
The training materials are in the form of Windows Media Files (.WMV). The .WMV Files are then Encrypted using specialized software to reduce theft and duplication and are rendered with an .ITPS File extension. We distribute (in your Purchase) a 'Decryption Client' that reads .ITPS File extensions using Windows Media Player. return to top
What do I receive when I purchase a 'Module'?
A Module that includes 1) Encrypted Windows Media Files, 2) Conceptual Diagram(s) (PDF Format) and 3) Workflow Diagram(s) (PDF Format). A Module is comprised of Lessons (the analogy is the 'Module' is the 'Book' while a 'Lesson' is a 'Chapter'). Modules include as few as 17 Lessons with the shortest Module being 15 Hours of materials. The Lessons are individual Windows Media Files (Encrypted as .ITPS Files) while the Conceptual and Workflow Diagrams are rendered as .PDF Files from Microsoft Visio 2007. return to top
Who are these training materials focused towards?
The Advanced Windows System Engineer or System Architect interested in observing another Windows System Engineer work in a Virtualized Lab Environment to complete Advanced Configurations and Administration. These Lessons assume you have a Virtualized Lab Environment where you will Build, Explorer and Learn independent from these materials. return to top
If I am new to Windows System Administration or Configuration are these training materials I can use?
Probably not. There are numerous 'Introductory Materials' available through Microsoft and other sources. Those are a better 'starting point' for learning Windows System Administration. Reviewing the Lessons in these Modules and following along in your Virtualized Lab Environment requires Advanced Skills in numerous areas. return to top
Does your training material include downloadable Virtual Hard Disks (VHDs) or a Workbook with Step by Step Procedures?
No. The training material includes 1) Video Files (the Lessons), 2) Conceptual Diagrams, 3) Workflow Diagram and 4) Course Syllabus. The 'shared assumption' is you use these items everyday and can 'build your environment' separately in your Virtualized Lab Environment as part of the Lesson. The Module Lesson Video and Conceptual Diagram provide information for you to build Virtual Hard Disks (VHDs) independently to match my Lab Environment, if you choose. return to top
When I make a purchase how do you transfer the Videos, Conceptual Diagram(s) and Workflow Diagram(s)?
The Modules are distributed in downloadable format using your Broadband connection. In order to maintain costs and reduce logistical challenges everything is distributed to you electronically. A Broadband connection is the only real option as the Encrypted Windows Media Files in a Module range from 5GB to 25GB+. return to top
Why did you make these Module Lesson Videos?
In my personal experience I found I learn the most sitting side by side with other Advanced Windows System Engineers. Reviewing the Module Lesson Video material provides you with the ability to observe another Advanced Windows System Engineer working, while you work in your Virtualized Lab Environment. return to top
When I focus on searching for Advanced Windows System Engineer Training it typically requires extensive Travel and associate Costs. As a working Consultant I was looking 1) good quality 'Advanced Windows System Engineer' Reference Material, and 2) the convenience of materials I could review again and again in Video format, while working in my Lab Environment between Consulting Engagements. These Modules provide you with that very ability! return to top
How do I know these training materials include Advanced Concepts?
On the Main Page of http://www.exchangesummit.net, you will find Excerpts from specific Lessons and Modules. Additionally, you can read the long history of Blog Entries found at http://itprosecure.com/blogs.
If you require further information, please write me at support@exchangesummit.net and we can schedule a time to speak by telephone. return to top
Course Materials
When I make a purchase, what do I receive?
All our Lesson materials are distributed electronically (i.e. downloadable web content). The Modules materials include: 1) Module Lessons as Encrypted Windows Media Files (Video), 2) Conceptual Diagram of the Lab Environment, 3) Workflow Diagram(s) of Core Activities and 4) the Course Syllabus that outlines the Lesson Objective and Actions. return to top
How do I view the Module Lessons that are Encrypted?
We also provide a download of the exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4 for installation on your Workstation/Server. Once installed and Activated with a Site Key, the exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4 allows playback of the Module Lessons through the Windows Media Player 9 and higher. return to top
What dimension in Pixels is the Module Lesson Video rendered?
1152 x 864 with Full Audio. return to top
Do you include a Step-by-Step Lab Exercise Guide?
No. The layout of the Module Lessons uses the Conceptual Diagram as the basis for orienting you as to which Server, Workstation or Management Console is in focus. Since these are targeted towards Advanced Windows System Engineers and Architects accustomed to working in a Virtualized Lab Environment and building Solutions based on design requests, they should be able to follow along by observing instead of using a Lab Exercise Workbook with thousands of steps (many of which are simply the 'setup' to the actual configuration steps).
Additionally, each of the Servers and Workstations are 'color coded' to aid in navigation. Again, with Video materials the real benefit is playing the Video sequences in a repeated fashion to understand the configuration steps and how an objective is completed. return to top
What percent of the Module Lesson Video is focused on the Server Console?
Over 75% of the Module Lesson Video is Administrative Action directly from the Server Console. Less than 25% of the Module Lesson Video is preparatory Slide Material or Conceptual Diagram review. return to top
I understand your approach to offering the Module Lesson Video. Where can I see an example?
On the Main Page of http://www.exchangesummit.net. The Sample Excerpt Video is actually from the Module Lessons. Each Sample Excerpt Video includes a brief introduction followed by the actual Module Lesson material (not part of the Module Lesson, but expressly made to 'setup' the Lesson Video). You can gain a good understanding of how the Module Lesson Video is offered by these Sample Excerpt Videos. return to top
