The purpose of exchangesummit.net is to provide a distribution mechanism for IT Pro Secure Corporation for selling training materials in Video format.  This training material is focused towards the Windows System Engineer interested in observing Video created in a Virtualized Lab Environment of Advanced Administration, Configuration, Optimization and Security techniques on the Windows Platform.     return to top

How are the training materials made?
The training materials are in the form of Windows Media Files (.WMV).  The .WMV Files are then Encrypted using specialized software to reduce theft and duplication and are rendered with an .ITPS File extension.  We distribute (in your Purchase) a 'Decryption Client' that reads .ITPS File extensions using Windows Media Player.      return to top

What do I receive when I purchase a 'Module'?
A Module that includes 1) Encrypted Windows Media Files, 2) Conceptual Diagram(s) (PDF Format) and 3) Workflow Diagram(s) (PDF Format). A Module is comprised of Lessons (the analogy is the 'Module' is the 'Book' while a 'Lesson' is a 'Chapter').  Modules include as few as 17 Lessons with the shortest Module being 15 Hours of materials.  The Lessons are individual Windows Media Files (Encrypted as .ITPS Files) while the Conceptual and Workflow Diagrams are rendered as .PDF Files from Microsoft Visio 2007.      return to top

Probably not.  There are numerous 'Introductory Materials' available through Microsoft and other sources.  Those are a better 'starting point' for learning Windows System Administration.  Reviewing the Lessons in these Modules and following along in your Virtualized Lab Environment requires Advanced Skills in numerous areas.      return to top

Does your training material include downloadable Virtual Hard Disks (VHDs) or a Workbook with Step by Step Procedures?
No.  The training material includes 1) Video Files (the Lessons), 2) Conceptual Diagrams, 3) Workflow Diagram and 4) Course Syllabus.  The 'shared assumption' is you use these items everyday and can 'build your environment' separately in your Virtualized Lab Environment as part of the Lesson.  The Module Lesson Video and Conceptual Diagram provide information for you to build Virtual Hard Disks (VHDs) independently to match my Lab Environment, if you choose.      return to top

The Modules are distributed in downloadable format using your Broadband connection.  In order to maintain costs and reduce logistical challenges everything is distributed to you electronically.  A Broadband connection is the only real option as the Encrypted Windows Media Files in a Module range from 5GB to 25GB+.      return to top

Do you include a Step-by-Step Lab Exercise Guide?
No.  The layout of the Module Lessons uses the Conceptual Diagram as the basis for orienting you as to which Server, Workstation or Management Console is in focus.  Since these are targeted towards Advanced Windows System Engineers and Architects accustomed to working in a Virtualized Lab Environment and building Solutions based on design requests, they should be able to follow along by observing instead of using a Lab Exercise Workbook with thousands of steps (many of which are simply the 'setup' to the actual configuration steps).

Additionally, each of the Servers and Workstations are 'color coded' to aid in navigation.  Again, with Video materials the real benefit is playing the Video sequences in a repeated fashion to understand the configuration steps and how an objective is completed.     return to top

The 'exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4' is a Decryption Agent that works within your Windows Media Play to dynamically decrypt files with an .ITPS File extension.

The Decryption Client provides you with access to the Windows Media Files that comprise the Module Lesson Video, for playback on a specified Workstation or Server.      return to top

A Broadband connection is required and the download time varies from several Hours to a day depending on the Broadband connection speed.  We selected Broadband distribution versus Overnight Shipping as this provides you with the greatest flexibility in obtaining the files in the future, while minimizing our effort to duplicate DVDs and find appropriate Shipping mechanisms.      return to top

Once I have downloaded the Module(s) and the exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4 what do I do next?
In your Download Instructions (and in the Download of the 'exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4') you received Installation Instructions for the Decryption Client 1.4.  Once the Decryption Client is installed you must make an e-mail request to us for a Site Key (while leaving your Decryption Client 'open!!!).  We will promptly respond with a Site Key to your matching Site Code (a Site Code is uniquely generated by your Decryption Client 1.4).  Be sure to leave the Decryption Client 1.4 'Open' while awaiting the Site Key from us.      return to top

What format are the Module Lesson Videos rendered?
Windows Media Video (.WMV).  Remember, because we use the exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4 to Decrypt .WMV files your File Extension for each Lesson will actually be an .ITPS file extension.  Once the exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4 is installed the Windows Media Player will understand to play .ITPS file extensions just like .WMV file extensions.      return to top

Decryption Client

I e-mailed a request for a Site Key and closed my exchangeummit.net Decryption Client 1.4 - what do I do now?
Re-open your Decryption Client 1.4, record the Site Code and re-email the Site Code to sitekeyrequest@exchangesummit.net.  We will respond promptly with a Site Key.

Remember, this is a 'one time' process (unless you move to another Workstation).  The Decryption Client 1.4 generates a unique Site Code that must be matched to a Site Key we generate and e-mail to you.  Additional details can be found in the Installation Instructions for the Decryption Client 1.4.      return to top

Workstation Platform types NOT SUPPORTED for the exchangesummit.net Decryption Client 1.4 includes any Terminal Server Environment and Guest Partitions running on Microsoft Hyper-V.      return to top

The Decryption Client 1.4 is 'matched' to the Serial Number of the Hard Drive on a per Workstation/Server basis.  You cannot move from Workstation/Server to Workstation/Server without requesting an updated Site Key for that specific Workstation/Server.      return to top
